Learn How the Calcivis Dental Imaging System Can Help Your Practice

CALCIVIS photoprotein is a first for dentistry: a dental biologic which produces light exclusively as a reaction to the presence of free calcium ions released from actively demineralising tooth surfaces.

Unique to CALCIVIS imaging system the resulting luminescence occurs only in the presence of free calcium meaning that CALCIVIS delivers a predictable result with low or no false positives.

The CALCIVIS imaging device is a specialised device designed exclusively to image the tooth surface after delivering an application of CALCIVIS photoprotein.

The CALCIVIS imaging system enables live visualisation of active demineralisation, improving early identification and engaging patients.
Users enjoy increased patient compliance and retention in early caries and associated enamel demineralisation conditions.

  • Screen potential demineralization sites (ICDAS code 1, 2 & 3) lesions using accepted risk assessment methods. (Examples include pit and fissure sites, buccal, lingual and palatal surfaces, sites adjacent to the margins of existing restorations, as well as around orthodontic brackets)
  • Perform a CALCIVIS imaging system ‘capture’ of identified sites to aid diagnosis of active demineralization, share and discuss the results chair side with the patient or carer.
  • Recommend patient actions to minimise identified risk factors, thus aiding the prevention of further demineralization.
  • Treat identified active lesions using (non-surgical) reparative mineralizing materials and/or sealing techniques to aid repair of enamel structure and help protect against further damage.
  • Monitor success at follow-up using the CALCIVIS imaging system

The CALCIVIS imaging device is a specialised device designed exclusively to image the tooth surface after delivering a metered dose of CALCIVIS photoprotein.

Initiated via a “one touch” computer controlled process, a specialized sensor integrated into the device immediately detects the resulting luminescence (light flash).

In less than 1 second, bespoke software presents a chair side demineralization “hot-spot” image map to clinicians, enabling informed and efficient dialogue with patients.

The CALCIVIS minimal intervention principle is simple:
